Our process

How Maxim builds it.

Every Maxim project follows the same six-phase process — from the first walkthrough to a fully commissioned system. Here’s how it works.

Phase 01

Consultation

Walk the property or review the architectural plans. Understand the layout, construction timeline, and how the homeowner actually uses each space.

  • On-site walkthrough or plan review
  • Identify system requirements per room
  • Coordinate with builder and architect
Phase 01: Consultation
Phase 02

System design

Determine which systems the home needs, where they go, and how they communicate. Specify every component and confirm it with the owner before ordering.

  • System-by-system specification
  • Equipment selection and layout
  • Integration map — what talks to what
Phase 02: System design
Phase 03

Prewire & infrastructure

Run structured cabling, conduit, and backing plates alongside the builder, before drywall goes up. This is the foundation every system depends on.

  • Structured cabling and conduit runs
  • Network and AV infrastructure
  • Coordination with electrical and framing trades
Phase 03: Prewire & infrastructure
Phase 04

Installation

Mount and terminate every piece of equipment — cameras, speakers, keypads, racks, displays, access hardware. Clean, labeled, documented.

  • Equipment mounting and termination
  • Rack build and cable management
  • Camera, speaker, and sensor placement
Phase 04: Installation
Phase 05

Commissioning

Program the control system, build scenes, configure the app, and test every integration point. The home should respond correctly from day one.

  • Control4 programming and scene creation
  • App setup for the homeowner
  • Full integration testing
Phase 05: Commissioning
Phase 06

Support

Hand over the system with a walkthrough and training session. Ongoing service, adjustments, and system health checks as the home settles in.

  • Homeowner training and walkthrough
  • Documentation and quick-start guide
  • Ongoing maintenance and support
Phase 06: Support
